Orange Socks Friday

Yay! Finally, I have finished Andrew's Orange Socks for Orange-Shirt-Friday. As Costumechick said, it was like knitting 2 sleeves... But they are done, and Andrew likes them.

I also finished the Mystic Water Shawl. I did the small version. I like the pattern, keep me awake the whole time. Love the zephyr lace yarn too. My cousin Blanche told me that Yi Ma, her mom, my aunt after reading my blog, she saw my MS3 and really liked it. I seldom talk to Yi Ma honestly, but she is one of the most important people in my family. She flew all the way from Hong Kong to attend my wedding which I was really appreciated it. When I went back to Hong Kong to visit, she offered her house for us to stay. We said "no", then she offered her son's extra apartment to stay for 2 weeks... She is always there when my family need help, ALWAYS. Since I am not going to knit another MS3 anytime soon, this MWS will be hers.

Last weekend, Andrew and I went to my in-laws' house. They had a huge picnic on Sunday. Andrew and I were standing behind the grills and cooked burgers and hot dogs. We enjoyed doing it since we didn't have to "socialized". hehehe... After eating, of course there was a tracker trailer ride and baseball game. And while my job was done, I was enjoying the nice weather outdoor by knitting Andrew's socks.

Before we left home, we went to see the bridge that my father-in-law built for his neighbor. It was quite a big accomplishment, such a BIG project!!!

DONE!!!

I can't tell you how happy I am right now. This semester is done! I had my last final today.

As for knitting, I am almost done with the Mystic Water Shawl, only need to finish the border. I have casted on the "Orange Friday Socks" for DH last night while I was supposed to be studying. hehehe... I used the pattern called Globe Trotter Socks, very simple and plain. I am on the foot part of the first sock, actually, I have been knitting the foot part for loooong time. My DH's feet are so big, I have to keep asking him to trying on the sock to see if I can start the toe, but it seems FOREVER. And now I am afraid I am going to run out of yarn...

I am using DH's new toy, Nokia N810, to type this post, so no pictures and links today, sorry. Now that I am done with this semester, I will have more to time to blog!!!

movie quiz

I saw this game from WifeMomKnitter's blog.

Here are the rules:

1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie (or get them out of your capacious memory).
3. Post them on your blog for everyone to guess.
4. Bold it when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. Looking them up is cheating, please don’t.

Ready?

1)
You tell God the Father it was a kindness you done. I know you hurtin' and worryin', I can feel it on you, but you oughta quit on it now. Because I want it over and done. I do. I'm tired, boss. Tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of not ever having me a buddy to be with, or tell me where we's coming from or going to, or why. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head all the time. Can you understand? The Green Mile

2) Richard. Riiiiiiiiiiiiichaaaarrrrd. Somewhere In Time. Good job WifeMomKnitter!!!

6) No. If we don't have the key, we can't open whatever we don't have that it unlocks. So what purpose would be served in finding whatever need be unlocked, which we don't have, without first having found the key what unlocks it?

7) You don't understand that this isn't a story to me, it's my life! I want to live!
Stranger Than Fiction, guessed right by Octopus Knits.

10) I can't believe you people. I come for you, and you want to stay, I let you stay and you want to go. Meet Joe Black

Bonus 11)
I can't. I'm involved now. You let go, and I'm, I'm 'onna have to jump in there after you. Titanic, guessed also by Bijal and Erin.

I really have a strange collection, so, they could be very easy, or hard. Good luck...

I am exhausted!!!

Ok, I am taking a break from doing studying, all these reports and ppt presentations... I am very very tired and sick of them... especially when someone fell asleep on the couch because playing Rock Band too hard while I was studying... so jealous!!! (ok, the truth is, he was waiting for the xbox360 downloading a song for Rock Band, and he said he was too bored, so he fell asleep.)

Since the last post, I have done quite a lots of things...

I have baked some pound cakes. It was delicious and all sold out for the bake sale last time, so I didn't get a chance to eat much of it. This week, I didn't care how busy I was on Tuesday, I baked 2 more, one plain, one with chocolate chips. I brought one to work(1/2 of each kind), some slides to school, some for C. I was going to give Sean some too, already put pieces in a container. Too bad he and Andrew had an all day off site meeting, so didn't get a chance to give the cake to him and Deborah. And guess what? I ended up eating them. Otherwise, I didn't get to eat any...

I also have cooked a bit... stuffed clams and curry beef.

I haven't gone to SnB for at least 3 weeks. I missed it, I missed my "bitches". Because I want to think of them everyday, I knit everyday, at least for 1/2. Is that too much?(good excuse, huh?) As for knitting, I have finished the Oversized Lace Top. It took me a year to finish it. I can't wait for the warm weather to come, so that I can wear it!!!

We went to watch Iron Man last night. It was awesome!!!

Last thing I want to mention is, there are always a group of 5 turkeys wandering at our yard, 1 male and 4 female. One morning, the male one was blocking the driveway that I couldn't get out. Stupid birds, didn't even move when I drove really close...

Should go back to those stupid reports...
