One more week vacation

I was supposed to start working on Tuesday, but somehow it got pushed off until next week. I am not complaining since I got one more week off, except I will make less money.

Last Friday was a little strange. I ran into Jyn in the chinese store in the afternoon. He always goes to that store, so it's not too weird see him there. Andrew came back from Chicago that night. Then we went to watch Pirates 3. The movie was ok, the beginning was kind of confusing. Before the movie, I saw Valerie and her husband right outside the theather. And then I saw Chau right before the movie started, she sat several rows behind me. What a day, I ran into 3 of my friends...

Andrew and I left on Saturday to his parents house for the weekend. We had a medium size picnic, about 50+ people. Andrew and I had so much fun cooking the burgers and hot dogs since we are not the socialized typed of people, we enjoyed standing behind the grills. And of course, he always had fun playing with the kids in the picnic. After the picnic, Mom H had to left us for her Rome trip. I am so jealous, I want to go too. :( I hope she is having fun there.

Andrew and Mom H

famous tractor ride, my father-in-law was the driver

We came home on Monday. One the way back, we stopped by the Hitchcock Chair Company/Factory in Riverton, CT.
Yesterday I went to Suyuna's house. And with her best friend, we sang a bit karaoke. I don't know how long I haven't done Karaoke. It was so much fun. Thanks Sue, I had fun singing and thanks for the great lunch.

As for knitting, I have started a new project. It's a hat called Shedir from Knitty. No surprise, it's purple, and the yarn is from Rowan, called Calmer. 75% cotton and %25 Acrylic/Microfibre. Kind of soft. This hat requires lots, I mean LOTS, of cabling, it should be either fun or made me hate knitting cable, we will see...

I was tagged by Jennsquared.

Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

My facts:

1) I usually don't drink soda. I would drink it only if there is no other option, but I prefer not to. I do like
Fresca Citrus, but I seldom drink it. So you can't find any soda in my fridge.

2) I have a fear of "there is no bathroom for me to use when I need to go". That means, I can't go for long drives. For people who know me well knew that I have this problem since I was young. (something happened when I was a kid developed this fear) Everytime I would have to go to the bathroom first before I leave a place. And that also explain why I usually don't go for a road trip (more than an hour) with my friends. I think it's very embarrassing for me to go to bathroom every 15 or 30 mins. Not that I need to go, but I worry that if I need to go, there is no bathroom for me to go, and that make me feel even worst. I am so glad that I have married Andrew. He doesn't mind this problem. When we drive around, he would ask me if I want to go to bathroom very often, maybe once every hour. Ok, now you know my big secret and then you can laugh at me...

3) I have lived in 3 States in the past 7 years. When I first came to America, I was in Quantico, Virgina where there are lots of cute guys walking around in marine's uniform and there are lots of barber shops . And I also met my husband in VA. Then I moved to Fargo, North Dakota. I was there for a year. It was soooo cold in the winter in Fargo. So I got married and moved to West Haven, CT to escape the crazy weather. And I have been lving in CT since I got married.

4) I love the smell of gas or paint thinner. When I was painting the apartment with my parents, once they opened the can of the thinner, I would feel like I was in haven, then they would yell at me "Stop smelling, start painting!!" I know the smell is harmful. Don't worry, I don't smell it very often.

5) I love noodles. I can eat noodles or pasta 3 meals a day everyday.

6) I am 28 years old, but I have never colored my hair. I think I would be considered a weirdo. I just like it black and natural.

7) I met my husband through ICQ, which is an online messager thingy and is mostly used by Asian people. I didn't know why he used it since he is an american, but everything worked out fine, and we ended up getting married. We are both glad that we could meet each other online. Another prove that you can't only meet bad people through internet. :D

This Semester is DONE!!!

I am so glad it has ended. My last exam was on Saturday morning from 8am to 10am. After that Andrew and I went celebrating for finishing this tough semester. How did we celebrate? We went to Webs for the tent sale, yay!!! We drove all the way up to MA, arrived there around 1:30pm, and left around 3:30pm. Yea, we were there for almost 2 hours... I couldn't believe it. We walked around the store for at least 3 times. Andrew was so patient, I really appreciated that. He also helped me to decide what to buy, which means everything looked or touched, he would be like, "do you want it? buy it." Then I would have a thinking look, and he would put the yarn in the basket. After 2 hours struggling what NOT to buy, I think I did pretty good. When I was in front of the register, I was actually very nervious that I think it's going to be very expensive, but it ended up not as bad as I thought. Also one of the lady cashiers(2 were ringng me up) was so funny, everytime she put my yarn in the bag, she would make some noices "alpaca, ummm...." or "Dolce, yummm...." haha. Then she was like "Sue(the other cashier), she is a purple girl", I was like what are you talking about? And then I looked my yarn, I was so surprised!!! I didn't know most of the yarn I picked were purple.

Yup, I bought A LOT, WAY more than I need, and mostly purple hahaha. So I don't think I need to buy yarn for another year, seriously! lol

I love my new GPS, it has been so helpful. When we were up in MA, we could use it to find the closest McDonalds to Webs. After the heavy yarn shopping, we shopped by McDonalds. We ate there, then we drove home. When we were around Middletown, something bad happened. I couldn't find my purse in the car. So I freaked out, of course. I had my wallet, my cellphone and a camera in the purse. Then we called Webs and McDonalds right away. Webs said they would go look for it and call us back, and McDonalds phone was busy, plus, Andrew's cellphone was running out of battery. So we drove all the way up to Webs, arrived around 5:40pm, and nope they didn't find anything. So we went back to McDonalds. Oh my gosh, they had it. I was so lucky that I could find it back!!

Jenn has tagged me for a meme, I will do it in the next post.

Long time

I haven't updated this blog for long time, I shouldn't even say how bad Anne was since I am not that good a blog writer myself either. Sorry Anne, but I am still looking forward to see your next post. Final exams are coming in a week or so, that's why I have been quite busy. However, last week was spring weekend, I did have some fun, didn't have to worry about homework and test. Friday night, I went to the spring concert, I had a lot of fun with my friends. They are all young, so being with them, I felt like I was 10 years younger :D

Bijal, Carolina, and me in concert

Since I have been busy in school, so I didn't have much time to knit. However, I did finish a small project which a kitchen towel and wash cloth set. Other than that, I am knitting a so-called microwave cover. I will post the picture of it later.

I can't wait for this semester to end. It has been tough during this semester. There are couple classes that make me think I have picked a wrong major. I hope next semester will be better.
