School has been busy, but I still manage to have some time to knit. Minimalist Cardigan is coming along well. The back is done. I am knitting the front left and right at the same time, it's at the armhole shaping. Besides that, nothing else is going on... OH, I went to Yarn Knit All on Friday after work for their anniversary sale. What did I buy? Before I show you, get a napkin for wiping your drool! I got 3 skeins of Noro Kochoran in lime and violet, some Sublime Fine Merino in green, and 2 skeins of Shubui sock yarn in light blue, of course I didn't forget to get something for me knitting pal!

DH cooking
Yes he did. I asked him to cook a fancy dinner for Valentine's Day at 11pm on Feb 13th. And he complained that he didn't have enough time since I asked too late. Well, he was given some advice from his friend and bought some frozen homemade food home to cook. (the place is in Milford, but I forgot the name already). He bought lobster ravioli(uncooked) , some while sauce, Challah bread (one of my favorite), and chocolate mousse for dessert. The lobster ravioli was really really good! Lots of lobster meet in the ravioli! Thanks to Sean who gave this idea to Andrew! And thanks honey for semi-making the dinner! I also want to thank him for the card, it did make me cry after I read it, very thoughtful and touching. Best card I ever got from him!

What did I gave Andrew for V.Day? I made his favorite chocolate, well, I made fudge. My very very first time. There will be no picture of it to show you, because it looked quite ugly, and since I don't eat sweet chocolate, I don't even know if it tastes good or not... But Andrew seemed appreciated.

I love top down pullover
Yup, the Cable-Down Raglan is DONE!!! I love the sweater, because there was no seaming, (well a little bit to sew the underarm) made me finish even faster.

The yarn that I used was Misti International Pima Cotton/Silk. I have used about 6.5 skeins of it. I like the color of it. It's soft, but it seems to have lots of lints even I haven't washed it yet. All in all, I am proud of myself that I can finish it before the semester starts. I will wear it next week no matter what, even it's going to be 60s degrees...
Last night Andrew and I went to watch Cloverfield with my friend and her husband last night. The movie supposed to start at 10pm. Previews last about 15-20 mins. And we left around 11-ish. I think I was interested into the content of the movie, but the camera just moved so much and so fast that it made me really sick. I think I have watched about 20 mins of the movie, and listened to it for the rest of time. But still, my friend and I were both so sick that we have decided to go. So people who can't knit during car rides, please don't watch this movie.

SnB @ my house
Yup, I was the host of the bitches. We did the potluck thing. We had soup, salad, cheese dip, pasta, dessert, and drinks. We ate, we knitted, and we laughed... really hard for 7.5 hours.
For knitting, I am still working on my Cable-Down Raglan. I am almost finishing the first sleeve (if I stop blogging, I may have a chance to finish the first sleeve tonight).

May be because I have been using those pair of Knitpick Options to knit the raglan for so long, the tips have changed its' color.

I finished knitting the Beaufort Hat. I use a ball of Rowan RYC Soft Lux. I think it's perfect for the pattern. I am very satisfied, although it's a bit too long for me.

And I got the last package from my secret knitting pal. I got a Melody PEZ, a Hello Kitty washcloth pattern, and 7 balls of Plymouth Royal Bamboo in red. I am in love!!! They are so soft! I also got a card from her. She was very thoughtful that she hopes my dad get better soon. Thank you very much pal! I am touched.

Happy 2008!!
Happy New Year to everyone!
I had a REALLY NICE New Year's Eve. My SIL came visit us. We picked her up at Lee Outlet and then headed to WEBs around 1pm. We were there for almost 2 hours, and of course we bought "a little bit" yarn (let's say, we both got 25% off discount). I know you won't believe me, here is a picture to prove...
I do need to show the Malabrigo Silky Merino in a closer shot, because it is just too beautiful and yummy. I got the Stonechat color.

Traditionally, I would make a fancy dinner for New Year's Eve, but I knew that we were going to Webs, and who knew how long we were going to be there. So I prepared the dinner the day before. I was going to make salmon with wasabi butter sauce, but I couldn't find fresh salmon. Then I tried to make chicken instead. After marinated the chicken, I screwed up the sauce. I was frustrated, and give up the dinner. We went to Bangkok Garden in New Haven for dinner. Yum!! However, I did make my own dessert... my favorite... Creme Brulee...
We watched the ball dropped last night/this morning on TV, and then went to bed. This morning, we dropped off my SIL back to New York. I felt so sad. I did have a great time with her, knitting, yarn shopping... I wish she could live closer to me. Or may be I could join her Moms' club someday.
As for knitting, during the holidays break, I finished 2 project, the Carolina socks and Fuchsia Lace scarf. Now I am going to cast on something else....

Happy Holidays!!
Yeah, I am back, from a nice vacation.
My SIL and her family has flown from Arizona to my in-laws where is in upstate NY for Christmas. DH and I have had a really good time there for a week. I got lots of cool presents, and some yarn money, hahaha...(why am I laughing? you'll see) I was so glad to see my SIL who is also a knitter. Although we didn't bitch much, we did knitted a lot. I got a pair of socks done(it's a gift, so I will post the picture later once the gift has been given), finished 2/3 of a scarf. And also we took a trip to Woodstock Wool Company and I bought 2 hanks of Bare Alpaca Tweed. So pretty...

So, What else did I get? From, my MIL, I got a Hello Kitty contact lenses traveling case, a Hello Kitty Pez, some Hello Kitty mini ornaments (so cute). My MIL also got me something very special. She found me a Cabbage Patch Kid who is an Asian girl named Phoebe, how cool is that? Oh, she also got me some knitting magazines from 1970s-1980s.

What did DH get me? hehehe... a set of Harmony, a yarn meter, 2 knitting books and Guitar Hero III for Wii. So beside knitting, we also played some guitar in the vacation.

We took Cookie(the 4 months old kitty) with us and left Choppy and Sticky at home. We put lots of food and water out. With the help of Cat Genie, we didn't have to worried about scooping the litter box. Once we got home yesterday, the litter box was fine, but food was all gone, and water was almost gone too. Thank goodness we didn't go longer.
OK, I think that is enough of bragging for right now. :D

My Yarn Wall
OK, I said, from the last post, I am going to show something off, and here it is...

My yarn wall! I actually have this book shelves from Ikea for couple years. I think last year, one of our SnBers found this shelves was being sold by a closing yarn store. And ever since, we refer this shelves as "yarn wall". It has been used in my computer room in the old house. I put books on it. I know Jenn has one too (as I remember). I was kind of jealous that she could fill up the yarn wall with yarn instead of books. Now, after we moved, I asked DH if I could have a crafty room and would like to use the book shelves as a yarn wall. "Sure!" he said. And there it is, I have one! But I don't have enough yarn to fill it up yet. My MIL saw it when she came over to help us move, she said" oh yeah, you will(fill it up)". Haha, she knows me too well! If you notice, there is a cube on the top first right which is empty, and it's because it's reserved for the lace yarn(they are coming soon)...
And tonight, I couldn't hold it any longer, I casted on a project... you will know the reason why I have to do it tonight(Wednesday). Even couple rows, I have to start tonight. It's the Cable-Down Raglan from IK spring 2007. I am using Misti Cotton, Pima Cotton/Silk. Karen, you can pet this one! :D
And last but not least, I can show you the new kitchen...
P.S. Karen, yes my mother-in-law knows how much fun I have been having in SnB. I always mention all the fun things that happens and how great/supportive my friends are there. She always visits my blog because she cares about me.

Anniversary Gifts
I know I haven't posted for long time (compare to the other bloggers). I had a very busy week, I am going to paid overtime this week hehehe...
Since I got paid overtime, I spoiled myself a bit, well, not really a bit, but a lot. I went to the Famrhouse yarn sale yesterday. I was planning to go with Jenn, but something came up, I couldn't go in the afternoon with her(she couldn't go in the morning). So, I made Andrew go with me in the morning. Surprise, I bought some yarn. I did the fill a bag for $159 with 26 skeins of yarn.
8 skeins of each of the following:

and 2 skeins of these in the bag:

And the following skeins are $11 each:

And I thought that was my anniversary gifts from Andrew, but... After I got hom last night, took out the camera trying to take picutres of the yarn, I dropped the camera on the carpet, and it broke. Yup, it's dead now, I took these yarn pictures with my cellphone. So, I guess my anniversary gifts include a new camera also. *sigh
I haven't touched the MS3 for about 2 weeks I would say. I have been working on the oversized lace top, and I am having a big problem with it. I think the color of the new ball of yarn I am using is different than the old ones. I did check to make sure all the skeins have the same lot number when I bought them, but somehow, this ball of yarn, after I winded it, it doesn't look like the others. I am so frustrated.... I can't take a picture of it since my camera is broken, and the cellphone camera couldn't show the differences. Oh well, come to SnB Thursday, I will show you...
And I want to show you a picture of Jasmine's Wedding that I love the most. Man, I want to be a photographer...P.S. I want to make it clear that I didn't take this wedding picutre, I was the one on the right in red in the picture, I just really like how the photographer captured the moment which showing the back of me and Jasmine, our bustled up dresses...

August 9th Thusday night SnB
We had a big group tonight. I have counted, there were 16 of us including baby Katy. Val was trying to use her camera to take a nice picture of us, but her camera battery just die at that moment. Oh well, next week Val, remember to bring your camera again :D So, I used my Sony Ericsson cellphone to take these 2 pictures(thanks to Karen who took the pictures, so that I could be in them). They are not so good, but hopefully, we will take a better one next week. Also, I am so glad that Erin has back tonight, she is in the picture! And good luck to you in the city, best wishes !!

Another exciting thing happened today was I have received my secret knitting pal's package. I have joined this SKP group though facebook. In six months, we have to send our pals 3 packages which worth $20 each. I have been waiting for long time, and here it came today, I was so pleased to see what I got. It's a skein of sock yarn from Fleece Artist(I couldn't wait and brought the yarn with me to show it off in SnB tonight and let my lovely ladies pet it), a set of sz 3 dp bamboo needles, and guess what, Hello Kitty band-aid. yay, my pal knows me well. The color of the yarn is just gorgeous, I can't wait to knit with it.
Oh, I forgot to mention, I also got the yarn that Jasmine got for me from Italy. It doesn't have labels, but it feels pretty nice. I have to bring them with me to next Thursday SnB, maybe some SnBers could tell me what fabric it is. Beside the yarn, she also got me a purse, I love it! And the yarn too of course.
Ok, after seeing the cool visitor counter, which shows the cities of people who visiting your site from, from kelly's blog. I was going to get one like hers also, but my counter has hit 1000 people already, so I don't want to give it up. Tonight I have told Kelly that beside the counter, I also can see some statistics of who has been visiting my website through Google Analytics. Then I take alook at my statistics more, I found out that, Google Analytics also has the same function as Kelly's blog counter, which it tells me where are the people who has been visiting my blog, so cool!!!

Catching up MS3
Finally I have squeezed some time to start knitting my MS3. I have just started clue 2. I love the pattern, but not my knitting skill. The wholes are not very even in my stole, I am pretty upset about it. oh well, I just have to keep going, maybe it will be better later.

I have received a package today from WEBs. 12 balls of Reyonlds Soft Linen in Fudgsicle color and 12 balls of Berroco Pure Merino in Brick color. I ordered them in April, and they were back ordered until now. I ordered them with the Blue Sky Alpacas for Jasmine's wedding shawlette. I told them I need that yarn before June, so WEBs sent them seperately for me and I still got the 25% discount. Very nice of them.

Today, I went to Macy's to return these...

I was so looking forward to see Kelly in perso. And I was, still am, so upset that Kelly has cancelled her concert. It was supposed to be a little special thing for Anniversary this year. Oh well.... Next time.
By the way, here is the link to the pictures of the Fargo trip.
